gingerbread houses and papa

last sunday was my grandpa's 84th bday

and he is still kickin' it!

one of the spriest (if that's a word) elderly man i know.

and in honor of his day of birth

parker decided to say a new word,

PAPA

and he said it for the first time right in front of him.

and Papa was just beaming.

we also honored him by making him build gingerbread houses with us.

the mass chaos of candy and icing,

babies crying,

falling down the stairs,

awesomeness.

he graciously let reid open his gifts for him.

and the madness begins... 

 

 

the smirk of a baby waking up

far to early from his nap

knowing he was missing out on all the fun.

can't wait to do it again next year!

and the next and the next.

which means Papa will live forever.

because i said so.

bummer

it's a sad day.

a sad like your dog died day.

and i'm bummed to say the least.

those nice huge exclamation points over my pictures,

ya....they aren't going anywhere.

so it turns out i did one of two things:

accidentally deleted the photo album in my picasa account

(which stores all blog photos)

or i changed the album's to privacy, instead of public

which wipes them off the blog.

sucky!

and the only way to restore them is to go back

to every single post i've ever done

and reload them.

double sucky!

so i contemplated doing so

for approximately 30 sec

and realized just how much work that would be.

so i'm pretty sure i'm just going to continue on from here

and parker will just have to think back

and remember his first year of life.

on a positive note!

my pictures aren't gone forever.

luckily many are printed out and ALL are saved on my computer's hard drive.

always lookin' on the bright side.

somebody got his first taste of

a yummy cinnamon roll saturday morning.

safe to say it was a hit.

but how could anyone hate those little

bites of heaven?!
